EuCham - European Chamber hosts in 2018 the Central Europe prime annual event related to integrity.
“It is easy to dodge our responsibilities, but we cannot dodge the consequences of dodging our responsibilities”. This quotation from Josiah Charles Stamp, English economist and past president of the Bank of England, could be placed at the very basis of the upcoming forum held by EuCham.
The event aims to promote and increase awareness on business ethics among key economic players. The previous edition, co-organized with Transparency International, featured speakers from Mercedes-Benz, KPMG, Raiffeisen Bank, Shell, as well as from diplomatic corps of Australia and Slovakia, with participants from 14 European countries.
NESsT Europe has been selected by the European Commission as one of the contact points for the programme Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs, which promotes knowledge exchange, idea-sharing and cross-border networking between aspiring entrepreneurs and experienced businessmen.
Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs allows wannabe entrepreneurs to learn directly from more experienced managers of small and medium businesses in other countries participating to the program. Both parties benefit from this exchange of experiences: new entrepreneurs can acquire and master new skills to run their business in the most effective way while hosts can rely on a fresh look on their opportunities and deepen their knowledge of foreign markets.
Therefore, NESsT is currently looking for:
a) entrepreneurs of SMEs as hosts
b) people aiming at becoming entrepreneurs who will have a practical learning experience abroad (scholarship funded)

EuCham hosted the conference ‘Bank Branches of the Future’ with Mr Shahzad Ishaq, the head of Consumer Finance in Alfalah Bank, the sixth largest bank in Pakistan with revenue more than USD 55 billion. Throughout the explanation of the future trends that will shape the bank branches during the next decade Mr Ishaq pointed out the importance of technological revolution for the future development of various bank sectors.
Mr Shahzad Ishaq indicated the partnership opportunities between technology companies and banks. Banking sector already faced such fast changing periods, so as the market is now consolidate and mature and will be able to use technology to improve banking processes.
The challenge is to adapt to the Millennials generation, that is highly dependant on technologies and internet. The advent of the technologic partnership might be relatively new for the banking industry, but banking has seen many such revolutions before. The revolutions were equally as big when telephone lines became commercial or when internet became a household service.
